Time to ski in Avoriaz

 In Latest News

It’s all of a sudden December and the winter season is just around the corner! We had a little taste of the powder last week when we hiked/toured up the Col de Ratti. It was delightful and the views were something else:

Tiring hike and fun ride down Col Du Ratti :)

So imagine our delight when we heard that the lifts are opening early for the weekend of the 5th December: Lets see if the pre season squats sessions we have been doing will pay off as we race down the pistes.

The latest is that the lifts officially open in Avoriaz on the 11th December for the Rock on Snowboard weekend where you can test the latest skis & snowboards, enjoy live music and partake in the lively happy hour. Passes are €55 for 3 days and there is even a live performance from Kavinsky. If you wish to continue the party then the Transition Festival (brought to you by Snowbombing) starts on the 13th December and runs for 6 days with concerts every night and even a live performance from Dizzy Rascal (What’s up darlin!), Krafty Kuts and more. Imagine a week of skiing, vin chaud and dancing the night away to live bands and DJ’s. Check out their website http://www.transitionsnow.com/music/ Its going to be amazing!! Its times like these we wish we were tourists and didn’t have to work 🙂

PowderCab are still offering up to 20% off all transfers if travelling before Christmas and 5% off services after Christmas!!

Here’s another beauty from our latest hike (Steve is the dot on the left with a snowboard on his back, the mountain range in the far background is the Mont Blanc Range and the closest mountain in the back of Mont Chery in Les Gets. Not bad for November!!):
